Hornet Band Cards
We are starting off the year selling $10 Hornet Discount Cards for services and discounts in the San Antonio area. These are really great cards with a lot of local and city-wide merchants and some great discounts. Each student should sell AT LEAST 2 discount cards and turn the money into the drop box in the band hall. The band keeps 50% of the proceeds and this is greatly needed by the band.
HORNET TUMBLERS
We have a great deal on our own East Central Hornet 24 oz. tumblers, they are just $10.00 each. All band students should have order forms for these super tumblers and a variety of other tumblers such as; Spurs, Cowboys, Texans, Rockets, Mavericks, Rangers, Astros, Longhorns, Aggies, etc... plus a few other designs including the branches of the military. They are a great deal at $10.00 each and if we keep selling, they will help us reduce the cost of our Spring Band Trip.
The "Cooking with Rhythmn" Cookbooks are on sale now. Around 200 of the band and band families favorite recipes, make sure you get yours. They are $10.00 each and will make great gifts for the entire family. We are at the band hall on most afternoons, if you would like to purchase or sign out cookbooks to sell, please email us at

Upcoming Fundraisers
Hornet Invitational Marching Contest
This is an annual event where area bands are invited to perform and be judged. There are several divisions and the contest is judged by outside judges. Each band receives a DVD of their performance and a critique from the judges to help each band perfect it's show prior to UIL competition.
1A, 2A, 3A UIL Marching Contest
We have been requested by the UIL to host this event. We proudly host this contest to help the smaller area schools have the same opportunities we share.
2nd Annual March-A-Thon
We completed our first of a planned annual event. Our band marched from the high school to Heritage Middle School, two and a half miles away to put on a very short concert for the school's PTA event that was going on at the same time. After a break and a few songs, the band marched back to the high school. The band was split into four groups with one Drum Major leading each group. The band members of each group collected pledges in an effort to raise the most money. The group who raised the most money received a pizza party. At this party, the winning group was able to sit back and be served all the pizza and drinks they wanted. The Band serving crew was made up of the other three Drum Majors and all three of the Band Directors.
Fiesta Parade Tickets
Each year the band boosters purchase a block of 345 seats for both the Battle of Flowers day parade and the Fiesta Flambeau night parade. We sell these seat with the proceeds going to the band.
The Scholarship Dinner
We hold this dinner every year in conjunction with the Pre-UIL Contest held at the high school with all the district bands participating.
The Practice Challenge
This is our annual middle school fundraiser where the band student collect sponsors for an extra one hour a day practice session for seven straight days. The top fundraising student collect prizes at each grade level.
